Chrysler Tower Plaza

The Bristow Chrysler Tower is moving to Route 66 thanks to a Route 66 Revitalization Grant that will be covering $700,000 of the one-million-dollar project, with the rest coming from the Bristow Historical Society. The project is expected to be finished by Summer 2026.

Chrysler Tower FAQs

 June 1949

The Chrysler Tower was engineered and designed by owner of Beard Motor Co, Hubert Grover “Red” Beard.

He made a trip to Detroit, Michigan with framed photographs of the tower and presented them to the sales department of the Chrysler company.

20-tons

An oil field rig lifted the steel tower off the ground. It was an engineering feat many said couldn’t be done.

Neon Sign

In 2022, National Parks Service listed the Chrysler Sign in Bristow as #3 in the country that needed saving

102 ft tall

The Chrysler Tower is 102 feet tall, each letter is 6ft tall! Taller than the famous Tulsa Driller that stands at 76ft.

1958

The sign went dark and has been dark since.
