The Bristow Chrysler Tower is moving to Route 66 thanks to a Route 66 Revitalization Grant that will be covering $774,000 of the one-million-dollar project, with the rest coming from the Bristow Historical Society and our amazing supporters. Come visit the tallest free-standing neon sign on Route 66 in Bristow, Oklahoma!

Chrysler Tower FAQs

 June 1949

The Chrysler Tower was engineered and designed by owner of Beard Motor Co, Hubert Grover “Red” Beard.

Sponsorships

Corporate and individual sponsorships are available to ensure this iconic landmark is preserved for future generations.

20-tons

An oil field rig lifted the steel tower off the ground. It was an engineering feat many said couldn’t be done.

Neon Sign

This is the tallest free-standing neon sign on Route 66.  In 2022, National Parks Service listed the Chrysler Sign in Bristow as #3 in the country that needed saving

102 ft tall

The Chrysler Tower is 102 feet tall, and each letter is 6ft tall! By comparison, the famous Tulsa Golden Driller stands at 76ft.

1958

The sign went dark and has been dark since.
